Charminar-Charminar History | Hyderabad Tourism Guide

     The Charminar is a monument and masjid in Hyderabad, India.The structure was built in 1591 AD. It's the foremost famed building of Hyderabad and also one amongst the most famed buildings in Republic of India.It had been built by Muhammad Quli Qutab Shah to celebrate the end of a deadly plague.The Charminar lies close to the bank of the stream Musi. It's near to Laad Bazaar and Makkah masjid. Charminar is taken from two words Char and Minar that translate as Four Towers in English.

    Charminar was the primary structure to be constructed within the new built town of Hyderabad.It's a forementioned that Quli Qutab Shah prayed for the top of the plague and vowed to create masjid if it had been eradicated.Mir Momin Astarabadi,the prime minister of Qutab sovereign vie a vital role within the style and layout of Charminar and also the town of Hyderabad.The structure is of Indo-Islamic design with some Persian components.The town of Hyderabad was divided into four divisions equally round the Charminar.
